Female Concealed Carrier In Chicago Shoots At Would-be Robber

Thank God that Illinois passed a concealed carry law a few years ago, or the woman involved in this attempted robbery could be another victim.

Details are extremely slim, but from what we gather, it’s a pretty ‘basic’ case of self-defense.

A woman was near 56th and Dorchester when a man in an SUV attempted to rob her. Reports do not say whether or not the suspect had a weapon, but it did say that the woman is a concealed carry permit holder and drew her firearm and shot at the suspect.

He took off in the SUV, probably wishing that concealed carry wasn’t a thing that citizens do.

Surprise, buddy. Armed citizens are out there, even in Chicago, and they’re refusing to be your victim.

A man in Hyde Park was in for a surprise when the woman he was trying to rob pulled out a gun and fired.

Just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday near 56th and Dorchester, Chicago police say the woman took out the gun and shot at the man.

Police say she has a valid concealed carry license.

The suspect drove off in a dark-colored SUV.

No one was hurt.
