The Lessons We DIDN’T Learn from Mass Murder

February 14th is the third anniversary of the attack at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkwood, Florida. If you’re like me, it is uncomfortable to stir that painful memory. I’ve studied that attack because it would be worse to see it repeated simply because we didn’t learn a difficult lesson. You might not remember, but the attack at Columbine High School was almost 22 years ago. The attack at Sandy Hook Elementary School more than 8 years ago. That is plenty of time for us to act so our children are protected. I have an uncomfortable prediction about the next mass murder. The next attack will be at a place that politicians told us was safe because law-abiding people like us were disarmed. It is time we looked harder.

Gun control is the promise that ink on paper will protect our children. That isn’t a new idea. We’ve had gun control laws for over a century. Today, we have over twenty thousand firearms regulations, and we were told that each and every one of them was the essential step that would finally make us safe.

We’re told that honest civilians should be disarmed, but the first thing we do at the sign of danger is called someone with a gun.

We were told that mandatory background checks would keep crazy people from getting firearms. That claim assumes that the government is always doing its job. The government might disarm a million honest citizens who are no threat to anyone, but that doesn’t stop the damage done from allowing a single criminal to get a gun. We know what happens next.

We saw background checks fail when a crazy man attacked college students in a gun-free zone in Isla Vista, California. Background checks failed when a crazy man attacked a prayer meeting in a gun-free zone at the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina. Background checks failed when the murderer passed his background check despite being a prohibited individual and attacked the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. Those are the clear examples where we knew the murderer was crazy or criminal before he attacked, and he passed his background check anyway.

The murderer at Parkland, Florida got a gun despite people contacting the FBI and saying the former student wanted to commit mass murder. Most of us recognize that as a significant clue.

If gun control depends on perfection, then it is doomed to fail.

We can cite example after example where the murderer got his firearm without bothering with a background check. The murderer at Sandy Hook Elementary School murdered his mother to take her guns. The murderer at Red Lake, Minnesota murdered his grandfather, a tribal deputy, to take his firearms. The political leftists who tried to kill dozens of Republican legislators at a baseball field in Alexandria, Virginia was a prohibited person who took his guns illegally from his father.

It now takes over a year to get a carry permit in Detroit while criminals get a gun in minutes on the street corner. How will disarming more honest citizens make us safer?

Mass murder shocks us. In contrast, the news media barely reports the hundreds of people who are shot in our failed cities every week. If we’re going to talk about saving lives, then we have to look at the ordinary citizens who are the victims of violent crime every day.

Some politicians said we would be safer if law-abiding good guys were disarmed. Is anyone surprised that their gun control laws left guns in the hands of criminals who break the law for a living? Drug gangs easily smuggle a few ounces of steel, brass, and lead as they smuggle millions of people across the border, and smuggle thousands of tons of drugs each year. Are you surprised that prohibition doesn’t work? Gun prohibition only disarms the law-abiding, and that hasn’t made our cities safer.

I want to clear up a possible misunderstanding. I’m convinced that gun control leaves us at risk. I know you might feel differently and I beg you to hear me out. I think gun control laws put our children in danger, but that isn’t because I’m different than you are; it is because I’ve seen things you might not have seen. I’ve looked into the eyes of the police officer who ran toward the sound of gunfire to save kids. That officer arrived too late. I’ve listened to a victim who was shot by a mass murderer and survived. They both begged us to keep the kids safe until the police arrived. That is exactly what the investigators said after the attack in Parkland, Florida.

It is time we listened.. before it is too late.

‘I looked at the video, and we could have stopped him if someone inside the school had a gun.’

  1. Because the media and MSM is so tightly bound to those who are against White Americans and the heritage of freedom which has been established in America by our ancestors, we often do not get the same news which is available elsewhere, so we often operate only on those facts that enemies might give to us – or fail to receive other news. This information below was never made available on the “American news” channels, so far as I’m aware.

    “Analysis // In NRA’s Response to School Massacre: Dog-whistle anti-Semitism, a Star-spangled Protocols of Zion” [Haaretz Title – Feb 26, 2018 ]

” NRA chief LaPierre identified the enemies of his organization, and of America, as Jews – from Karl Marx to Bernie Sanders

Longtime National Rifle Association chief executive Wayne LaPierre Thursday addressed criticism of his organization following the Florida school massacre, and his combative defense included expressions of dog-whistle anti-Semitism reminiscent of the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” with descriptions of a powerful plot to destroy America’s freedom by “European-style Socialists” who he said had taken over the Democratic Party.

LaPierre vowed that the NRA intends to go far beyond its role as a gun lobby, to warn Americans that all of their individual freedoms are being destroyed by a condescending intellectual elite….

Again and again in his speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland, LaPierre identified the enemies of the NRA, and of America, as Jews – from Karl Marx to Bernie Sanders, from Hungarian-born Holocaust survivor George Soros to former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg. LaPierre singled out Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer of New York as one of the Democrats who are “liars to the core.”

“History proves it. Every time, in every nation in which this political disease rises to power, its citizens are repressed, their freedoms are destroyed, and their firearms are banned and confiscated. It is all backed in this country by the social engineering, and the billions, of people like [philanthropists of Jewish lineage] George Soros, Michael Bloomberg, Tom Steyer, and more.”

LaPierre, who has led the NRA for three decades, outlined a vision of a vast conspiracy led by “European-style Socialists” who, he said, have turned the Democrats into a “party which is now infested with saboteurs” and which has infiltrated and taken over such bodies as the FBI, the U.S. intelligence community, the Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service.

Their goal? “Absolute control, in every corner of our government, is their ultimate dream. These intellectual elites, they think they’re smarter than we are. They think they’re smarter than the rest of us. And they think they’re better than we are. They truly believe it, and you know it, the privileged and the powerful. They think they deserve to be in charge of every lever of power.

“This growing Socialist state dreams of manipulating schoolchildren to squeeze and squeeze information about their parents. They’ll be asking your kids if mommy or daddy spanked them, or what mommy and daddy feed them for dinner, they’ll want to know what TV shows you watch, what magazines or newspapers you read – and, oh yes, do mommy and daddy own a gun.

“And all that private information will be entered into that ultimate list, that cloud of data storage, that couldn’t care less about due process and constitutional freedom, and your privacy as an American citizen – and then it’s just a short hop to the systematic destruction of our most basic freedoms in this country.

“And you all know what they are, but let me say them: family, faith, individual responsibility and self-destiny, a free-market economy, patriotism, respect for our national flag and our national anthem, personal liberty, and justice for all.”

As it is, LaPierre said, “On college campuses, the Communist Manifesto is one of the most frequently assigned texts. Karl Marx is the most assigned economist.”

He reserved particular scorn for the words “Hollywood” and “Washington.” In the nation’s capital, he said, “no one speaks out, no one challenges authority, everyone keeps their mouth closed and their heads down, and that’s exactly how Socialistic societies function.”

“Anyone who attempts to resist is smeared into submission,” he added. “Yep, you know it. Ah, yes, the Art of the Smear – we do live in the Socialistic age of the Art of the Smear. It doesn’t have to be true. It just has to stick somewhere, anywhere. It’s designed to degrade, to destroy, and it’s all over the national media to serve their agenda, and is a movement that loves a smear – ‘Racist,’ ‘Mysogynist,’ ‘Sexist,’ ‘xenophobe’ and more.”

According to LaPierre, for America’s Socialists, “You name a group, and they’ll find a way to turn them into victims. They keep their movement growing by finding someone to be offended by something, every minute of every day.” Citing the Occupy movement, Black Lives Matter and Antifa, he said they “agitate the offended, promote uncivil discourse, and ignore any sense of due process and fairness, to destroy their enemies.”

“Evil walks among us,” LaPierre said, “and God help us if we don’t harden our schools and protect our kids.”

  2. “Gun Control’s Unholy Union With Hollywood Is Too Rich”

“U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Gun control groups are recruiting Hollywood elites to sell the reasons why more gun control is necessary. Never mind these same Tinseltowners live within gated, secure neighborhoods and often pay for private security details whenever they feel like it. They haven’t learned the lessons that nothing is more off-putting than Hollywood hypocrisy, so they’re going for a sequel.

The Giffords gun control group is putting on a press offensive to engage celebrities to help limit Second Amendment rights….” [Continue]:

  3. FALSE FLAGS intended to alarm the fearful and remove their ability for self protection, mass murder is what wars do.

  4. Hmm, I have a ” voice of the people” cartoon / sketch from three yrs ago. It shows three kids saying ” we saw something “, then there are three more people saying ” we said something “, and there are three adults, a school nurse, an FBI guy, and a cop / sheriff all thinking ” we should have done something “. why aren’t the school admin and law enforcement being held accountable ? Aren’t they suppose to serve and protect? They dropped the ball and didn’t do their job. And where was that chicken manure deputy sheriff at when it was all going down ? sorry every one, didn’t mean to get up on my soap box again.
